U.S. Death Toll in Iran Conflict Hits as Trump Says Operations Could Last Weeks
President Trump says the campaign against Iran could last several weeks, warning of possible ground troop deployment if needed

- The number of American service members killed in the Iran conflict has reached six following the recovery of two previously missing personnel
- Former President Donald Trump described the operation as the “last best chance” against Iran’s nuclear and missile threats
- The conflict has included a friendly fire incident in Kuwait that downed three U.S. jets
The U.S. military confirmed Monday that six American service members have now died in the ongoing conflict with Iran, following the recovery of remains of two previously missing personnel.
President Donald Trump described the campaign as the “last best chance” to neutralize threats from Iran’s ballistic missiles and nuclear program, warning it could last four to five weeks—and potentially longer. He added that ground troops could be deployed if necessary.
Earlier, Kuwait mistakenly shot down three U.S. F-15 jets in a “friendly fire incident,” though all crew members survived. The conflict has also claimed at least 11 lives in Israel, while the Iranian Red Crescent reports 555 fatalities in Iran.
In a separate development, two drones targeted the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, causing minor damage, according to the Saudi Ministry of Defense.
