Ghanaian singer Sista Afia has opened up about her fears surrounding motherhood, saying she is more concerned about becoming a single mother than motherhood itself.
The musician shared her thoughts on X, revealing that seeing the growing number of single mothers among her generation has made her reflect on the kind of family she wants to build.
Sista Afia clarified that she is not afraid of having children but fears becoming a “baby mama” without the love, commitment and family structure she envisions.
She said her desire is to build a home and committed family rather than simply have a child.
The singer admitted that the possibility of raising a child without the family life she hopes for deeply scares her.
“I want to build a home, not just have a child,” she said.
