Ato Forson Takes Lead In Latest NDC 2028 Flagbearer Poll

Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson has taken the lead in the latest Global InfoAnalytics poll on who should lead the National Democratic Congress (NDC) into the 2028 presidential election.
Ato Forson recorded 32%, up from 22% in July, while NDC National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia dropped from 27% to 23%.
The latest figures, shared by Global InfoAnalytics Executive Director Mussa Dankwah on Monday, September 14, show Ato Forson leading Asiedu Nketia by nine percentage points.
The poll also found that 28% of delegates remain undecided, although this represents a two-point decline from the 30% recorded in July.
Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu followed with 5%, while Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang and Chief of Staff Julius Debrah each recorded 4%.
Professor Joshua Alabi polled 2%, while Food and Agriculture Minister Eric Opoku remained at 1%.
According to Dankwah, the September poll sampled 3,615 NDC delegates between September 11 and 13, 2026, at a 99% confidence level and a margin of error of ±2.17 percentage points.
The results suggest a significant shift in delegates’ preferences, with Ato Forson recording the biggest increase among the contenders. However, the high number of undecided delegates indicates that the race remains open.
