Market women at Techiman in the Bono East Region have expressed disappointment in President John Dramani Mahama as worsening economic conditions continue to affect their businesses.
Yam sellers in the market say they are incurring heavy losses due to a persistent cash crunch, which has slowed down trading activities in Techiman and across the country. Many of them say large quantities of yam remain unsold, leading to significant financial strain.

Speaking during a visit by the Minority Caucus led by Frank Annoh-Dompreh, the traders lamented the situation and appealed for urgent intervention.
One trader, who broke down in tears, said the collapse of her business has affected her family life.
“My marriage has collapsed because my business is gone. I’ve spent millions on yam, but it’s just rotting away,” she said.
The traders described the situation as dire, warning that without immediate support, more businesses could collapse.

In response, Hon. Annoh-Dompreh assured the women that the Minority Caucus will take up the matter and continue to push for solutions until the situation returns to normal.
