A fuel tanker crash has caused significant damage at Ahodwo in Kumasi, prompting a swift emergency response from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).

The tanker, reportedly carrying about 54,000 litres of petrol, veered off and crashed into several used vehicles parked for sale at a roadside garage near +2 Pub. The impact destroyed multiple vehicles and left parts of the area damaged.

Firefighters quickly arrived at the scene and initiated cooling operations to prevent a possible fire outbreak or explosion due to the highly flammable nature of the cargo.

The GNFS also deployed a recovery truck to assist in towing the damaged tanker and supporting ongoing recovery efforts.

Emergency responders worked to secure the area, while authorities cordoned off the scene to facilitate operations, leading to temporary traffic disruptions in the area.

No casualties had been officially confirmed at the time of filing this report.
