Former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, has secured the number one position on the ballot paper for the party’s National Chairmanship election scheduled for October 3, 2026.
Mr. Boadu emerged first during the balloting exercise held to determine the order in which candidates will appear on the ballot paper for the upcoming NPP national executive elections.
Former National Vice Chairman Sammy Crabbe picked the second position, while former National Chairman Paul Afoko secured the third slot.
Former Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko will contest from the fourth position on the ballot paper.
The balloting forms part of preparations for the NPP’s national executive elections, with the four chairmanship contenders expected to intensify their campaigns and engagements with delegates ahead of the October 3 polls.
The chairmanship contest is attracting significant attention within the party, with the candidates seeking to convince delegates of their ability to unite the party, strengthen its organisational structures and improve its electoral fortunes.
