A 56-year-old security guard at the Ayeduase Roman Catholic Junior High School has been brought before the Asokore Mampong District Court over allegations of rape, extortion, and intimidation involving two female students of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
The accused, Lloyd Kwaku Boateng, is alleged to have committed the offences on February 13 and April 4, 2026, targeting two separate victims.
The case is being heard by Her Worship Hilda Esther Wryter, with police prosecutors detailing disturbing accounts of the alleged incidents.
In the first case, prosecutors told the court that on February 13, 2026, a 22-year-old KNUST student visited the Ayeduase Roman Catholic School premises with her boyfriend at about 9:00 p.m.
It is alleged that Boateng confronted the couple, accused them of inappropriate behaviour, and assaulted the boyfriend. He reportedly confiscated their mobile phones and room keys and demanded GH₵300 before ordering the boyfriend to leave.
Chief Inspector Samuel Agyare told the court that Boateng then allegedly threatened to publicly disgrace the young woman, forcibly took her into a classroom, and raped her despite her resistance.
In the second incident, the court heard that on April 4, 2026, another 23-year-old student and her boyfriend, Daniel, had gone to the same premises for fresh air when they were allegedly confronted by the accused.
Boateng is said to have accused them of trespassing, detained the boyfriend, and held the complainant until the early hours of April 5. He allegedly threatened her with a knife and forced her into sexual activity.
He is further accused of extorting GH₵150 via mobile money, taking nude photographs of the victim, and threatening to leak them if she reported the matter.
The accused was arrested on April 13, 2026, after allegedly attempting to repeat similar actions on another victim. He was reportedly apprehended with the help of a boyfriend of one of the victims and community members before being handed over to the police.
Medical examinations of both complainants have been submitted and reportedly confirm signs of physical trauma, although Boateng has denied all allegations in his caution statement.
Police prosecutors have asked the court to remand the accused while investigations continue, adding that duplicate case dockets have been forwarded to the Attorney General’s Department for legal advice.
