According to Nananom, the remains of the late chief reportedly went missing several months after his death, prompting the Police Homicide Unit to commence investigations.

The two suspects, identified as Daniel Awer and Chris Banahene, have since been arrested and are currently in police custody.

Addressing a press conference, the Boundary Chief of the Awutu Traditional Area, Nai Kwaben Atopi, alleged that the Awutu Senya East Municipal Chief Executive, Seth Sabah Banini, connived with the two suspects to remove the remains of the late chief.
