The newly elected Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as COKA, says he believes God chose this particular moment to bring him into the party’s leadership to help “take the NPP out of slavery.”

COKA explained that his defeat in the previous regional chairmanship contest, when the NPP was in government, was part of God’s plan to prepare him for his current role.

He said he remained patient after losing the previous election and trusted that his time would eventually come.

According to COKA, his emergence at a time when the NPP is in opposition is significant and presents him with the opportunity to help rebuild and reposition the party.

He likened his political journey to the biblical stories of David and Solomon, noting that different leaders are called upon to fulfil different purposes at different times.

COKA expressed confidence that his tenure as Ashanti Regional Chairman will strengthen the NPP in the region and contribute to the party’s efforts to return to power in the 2028 general elections.
