No Regrets: Asiedu Nketiah Defends NDC’s Parliamentary Leadership Change
Asiedu Nketiah maintains confidence in the new team, praising their performance since the changes
- NDC's reshuffle of parliamentary leadership aimed at improving party performance
- New leadership under Ato Forson has revitalized the party
- Despite initial backlash, Asiedu Nketiah affirms the party stands by the decision
National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah has firmly backed the party’s decision to overhaul its parliamentary leadership, rejecting criticisms of the shake-up.
Earlier this year, the NDC replaced key leaders, including Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu, Deputy Minority Leader James Klutse Avedzi, and Minority Chief Whip Muntaka Mubarak.
While the decision faced backlash, especially with the upcoming 2024 elections, Asiedu Nketiah has confidently affirmed the changes have had a positive impact on the party.
Speaking at a campaign rally in Ajumako Enyan Essiam, Central Region, he explained the leadership change as part of a strategic plan to improve party performance, highlighting how new leader Ato Forson has proven effective.
“We don’t regret the changes. Ato Forson has made the party more attractive, and the old leaders did their part, but it was time for a new baton,” he stated.
