MTN Ghana has hosted more than 200 students from several educational institutions in Accra as part of a hands-on technology immersion programme aimed at bridging the gap between classroom learning and industry practice.
The students, drawn from institutions such as Ashesi University, Ghana International School, Cradle Star Academy, and Kinderland School, visited MTN House where they were introduced to the company’s operations, innovation strategy, and digital transformation agenda.
The programme exposed participants to MTN Ghana’s history, core values, and customer-focused innovations, as well as its sustainability and social impact initiatives in education, youth empowerment, and community development.

A major highlight of the visit was a guided tour of MTN Ghana’s Network Operations Centre (NOC) and data centres, where students observed the systems that support network connectivity, security, and service reliability for millions of users.
Speaking on the initiative, MTN Ghana’s Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer, Adwoa Wiafe, said the engagement reflects the company’s commitment to preparing young people for the future digital economy under its Ambition 2030 strategy.
She noted that MTN continues to invest in youth development through initiatives such as the Bright Scholarship programme, the MTN Digital Skills Academy, and collaborations including the One Million Coders initiative and the Girls in ICT programme.

According to MTN, the visit is designed to inspire students and strengthen interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) careers by exposing them to real industry operations.
IT Projects Implementation Manager, Paschal Paaga, added that such experiential learning opportunities help bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world application.
One participant, Maame Sapomaa, a Level 300 Information Systems student from Ashesi University, described the experience as inspiring, saying it helped bring classroom concepts to life while introducing her to new technological insights.
MTN Ghana says it remains committed to digital inclusion, innovation, and partnerships that support long-term socio-economic development in line with its Ambition 2030 vision.
