MTN Ghana and MobileMoney Fintech LTD are set to play leading roles at the 2026 edition of the 3i Africa Summit 2026, a major gathering of fintech leaders, regulators, investors, and policymakers across Africa.

The summit will take place from May 6 to May 8, 2026, at the Destiny Arena in Accra under the theme “The Next Frontier: Shaping Africa’s Integrated FinTech Future.”

The event will spotlight discussions on digital finance, mobile money innovation, embedded financial services, and the future of Africa’s fintech ecosystem.

At the opening session, MTN Group President and CEO Ralph Mupita will join a fireside chat focused on the future of digital finance in emerging markets. Senior Vice President of MTN Group WECA, Ebenezer Twum Asante, will also contribute to discussions on expanding financial inclusion through mobile money and telecom-led platforms.

MobileMoney Fintech CEO Shaibu Haruna is expected to deliver a keynote address on strengthening consumer protection in fast-growing digital credit and banking markets, highlighting the need for stronger safeguards as mobile financial services expand across Africa.

Adoma Owusu, General Manager for Fintech Business Development and Expansion at MTN Group Fintech, will also participate in a panel discussion exploring how virtual assets and digital tools are being used to solve real-world financial challenges.

Other senior executives, including Sylvia Otuo Acheampong of MMFL and Angela Mensah-Poku of MTN Ghana, will moderate sessions across the three-day programme.

Speaking ahead of the summit, Shaibu Haruna said Africa is actively shaping its own financial future and stressed the importance of balancing innovation with responsibility to ensure sustainable growth in digital finance.

Now in its third year, the 3i Africa Summit has become a leading continental platform focused on innovation, investment, and impact. The 2026 edition will explore emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, tokenisation, open banking, and digital public infrastructure.
