- He alleges severe environmental destruction under the NDC.
- He calls for stronger media scrutiny of illegal mining.
General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Frimpong Koduah, has accused journalists in Ghana of failing to speak out about what he described as severe environmental destruction linked to illegal mining under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration.
Speaking on Ghana Se Sen, a programme on Lawson TV/Radio hosted by Kwame Tanko, Mr Koduah claimed that illegal mining, popularly known as galamsey, has reached a serious level under the current administration, yet the issue has not received sufficient attention from the media.

He questioned what he described as the apparent silence of journalists on the environmental impact of illegal mining, arguing that the scale of the destruction should attract greater public discussion and media scrutiny.
According to Mr Koduah, the situation warrants urgent attention because of the damage illegal mining is causing to the country’s natural resources and environment.
His comments come amid ongoing public debate over illegal mining and its impact on Ghana’s forests, rivers and other natural resources.
Mr Koduah called for increased media attention to the issue and urged journalists to continue holding authorities accountable over the management and protection of the environment.
