- Liverpool agree deal with Iraola.
- Two-year contract expected.
- Bournemouth assistants could follow.
Liverpool have reached a verbal agreement with Andoni Iraola to become the club’s new head coach following the departure of Arne Slot.
The former Bournemouth manager has emerged as Liverpool’s preferred candidate and is expected to take charge at Anfield ahead of the new season. Reports indicate that Iraola is set to sign a two-year contract, with an official announcement likely to be made later this week.

The 43-year-old Spaniard left Bournemouth at the conclusion of the campaign and has built a reputation for favouring short-term contracts throughout his managerial career. Previous coaching roles have included spells with AEK Larnaca in Cyprus, as well as Spanish clubs Mirandés and Rayo Vallecano.
Iraola is also expected to bring members of his Bournemouth backroom staff with him, including assistants Tommy Elphick and Shaun Cooper. However, Bournemouth have not yet received any formal communication from either coach regarding their future plans.
Liverpool are keen to complete the appointment as quickly as possible as preparations for the new season continue. Club officials are believed to be seeking a manager whose philosophy aligns with Liverpool’s commitment to high-intensity, attacking football, making Iraola a strong fit for the role.
