The Accra Circuit Court has restored the bail conditions of Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC and the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Bono Regional Chairman, after he complied with a directive to surrender his passport.

The court had earlier, on June 4, 2026, remanded him into police custody for failing to meet one of his bail conditions in an ongoing criminal case, which required him to deposit his passport.

During proceedings on Monday, June 8, counsel for the accused, Daniel Martey Addo, informed the court that all bail requirements had now been fulfilled.

The court registrar confirmed that the passport had been submitted on Friday, June 5, 2026, after which the court proceeded to reinstate his bail.

However, the court cautioned Abronye DC that any further breach of his bail conditions would lead to its revocation and possible re-arrest.

Abronye DC is standing trial on a charge of false publication brought by the State. He was initially granted bail by the High Court last month following his arraignment, with the surrender of his passport among the key conditions attached to his release.
