President John Dramani Mahama’s approval rating has risen to 71%, marking the highest performance score recorded for any sitting president in Global InfoAnalytics’ governance tracking polls since 2020.

According to the firm’s June 2026 National Tracking Poll, the figure represents an increase from 67% recorded in March 2026, reflecting a four-percentage-point rise within three months.

The survey found that 23% of respondents disapproved of the President’s performance, while 6% expressed no opinion.

Global InfoAnalytics noted that the latest rating is a new high in its regular assessment of presidential performance.

Regionally, approval levels remained strong across most parts of the country, with the Savannah Region recording the highest support at 86%, followed by Western North at 82%. The Bono Region posted 80%, while both the Volta and Western regions recorded 76%.

In Greater Accra, 73% of respondents approved of the President’s performance, compared to 55% in the Ashanti Region. The Ahafo Region recorded the lowest approval rating at 40%.

The poll also showed strong backing among supporters of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), with 91% approval. Among floating voters, 65% approved, while 37% of New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters expressed approval compared to 54% who disapproved.

The findings also reflected broader national sentiment, with 66% of respondents saying Ghana is headed in the right direction, while 27% said otherwise.

The survey was conducted between May 30 and June 12, 2026, across all 16 regions and 84 constituencies, sampling 8,784 voters.
