Former Afigya Kwabre South Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as COKA, has confidently declared that he will emerge victorious in the party’s upcoming Ashanti Regional Chairmanship election.
Speaking during a Mother’s Day celebration with members of Heaven Seekers Ministry at Atonsu Dompoase, COKA said he remains optimistic about winning the contest scheduled for August 8, 2026.
According to him, his years of dedicated service, grassroots mobilisation and commitment to the NPP in the Ashanti Region have adequately prepared him for the role.
“Come August 8, 2026, we are going to hold our regional elections. I am contesting for the position of Regional Chairman. I have done a lot of work, and by 6 p.m. on that day, I believe I will be declared the next Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP,” he stated confidently.
COKA stressed that unity, integrity and dedication would shape his leadership if elected to lead the party in the region.
“I want to lead with unity, dedication and integrity, so I ask for prayers and support,” he added.
The Ashanti Region remains one of the strongest support bases of the NPP, making the regional chairmanship race a key contest as the party prepares towards the 2028 general elections.
Touching on national issues, COKA also expressed concern about the growing menace of illegal mining, commonly known as galamsey.
He described the environmental destruction caused by galamsey as a national problem that should not be politicised.
“Galamsey is not about NPP or NDC. Galamsey is about Ghana. It is destroying our lands and affecting our people, and we must all rise to address it,” he stated.
