A contender for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) National First Vice Chairman position, Kwadwo Bamba, has cautioned party members against what he claims are efforts to undermine the reputation of the party’s 2024 vice-presidential candidate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO).
According to Mr. Bamba, attempts to tarnish Dr. Opoku Prempeh’s image could undermine unity within the NPP.

He alleged that some individuals had engaged bloggers and TikTok content creators to spread negative narratives about the former Minister for Education and Energy, warning that such actions should cease.
Mr. Bamba further stated that he would publicly identify those allegedly involved if the campaign against Dr. Opoku Prempeh continued. He maintained that internal attacks on key party figures could negatively affect the party’s cohesion ahead of future political contests.
Expressing confidence in Dr. Opoku Prempeh’s leadership, Mr. Bamba described him as a dedicated party stalwart who has served the NPP with distinction. He also expressed the view that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia would retain Dr. Opoku Prempeh as his running mate, arguing that he remains the most suitable candidate for the role.
