Former Afigya Kwabre South NPP Constituency Chairman, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as COKA, has expressed confidence in securing victory in the New Patriotic Party’s upcoming Ashanti Regional Chairmanship election.
The experienced party executive believes his long-standing service, close connection with grassroots supporters, and dedication to the party in the Ashanti Region give him a strong advantage in the race.
Speaking during a Mother’s Day celebration with members of Heaven Seekers Ministry at Atonsu Dompoase, COKA officially reaffirmed his ambition to lead the party in the region ahead of the 2028 general elections.
“On August 8, 2026, the NPP will hold its regional elections, and I am contesting for the position of Regional Chairman. I have worked hard for the party, and with God’s guidance, I believe that by 6 p.m. on that day, I will be declared the Ashanti Regional Chairman,” he stated.
He explained that unity, integrity and commitment would form the foundation of his leadership if elected into office.
“I want to lead with unity, dedication and integrity, and I ask for prayers and support,” he added.
The Ashanti Region is widely regarded as the electoral stronghold of the NPP, making the regional chairmanship race an important contest for the party’s future organisation and campaign strategy ahead of the 2028 elections.
COKA also addressed the growing problem of illegal mining, popularly known as galamsey, describing it as a serious national challenge that should not be politicised.
According to him, the destruction caused by illegal mining activities requires urgent national attention and collective action from all Ghanaians.
“Galamsey is not about the NPP or NDC. It is about Ghana. Our lands and people are suffering because of it, and we cannot remain silent. We need to confront it seriously and continue to pray for the nation,” he said.
