He disclosed the financial plan during a briefing on Thursday, February 26, outlining the projected expenses from pre-tournament preparations to a potential run to the final of the competition, which will be hosted in the United States, Canada, and Mexico in June.

According to the Minister, $1,230,465 has been allocated for pre-tournament activities, including a FIFA training camp and four friendly matches to prepare the team ahead of the competition.

The largest portion of the budget, $6,284,000, will be used during the group stage to cover appearance fees, match bonuses, daily allowances for players and technical staff, and operational costs for officials.

He explained that expenses would vary depending on how far Ghana progresses. The budget for the round of 32 is projected at $690,000, rising to $920,000 for the round of 16, $1,137,500 for the quarterfinals, $1,365,000 for the semifinals, and $1,840,000 if the team reaches the final.

An additional $310,000 has been set aside to cover honorariums for team management, officials, and support staff throughout the tournament.

Ghana has been drawn in Group L, where they will face Panama, England, and Croatia, setting up a challenging path in the global tournament.

The budget highlights the government and Ghana Football Association’s financial commitment to ensuring adequate preparation and support for the Black Stars as they aim for success at the 2026 World Cup.
