“I Tried Everything, But Nothing Worked” – Akofena Breaks Silence on Adwoa Safo Family Rift
The Safo Family Head says private efforts involving chiefs and former presidents failed before the disagreement over Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka’s funeral became public.

The Head of the Safo Family and leader of the Kristo Asafo Mission of Ghana, Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena I, says he has made several attempts to reconcile with his sister, Sarah Adwoa Safo, over the disagreement that emerged following the death of their father, Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, but all efforts have failed.
Speaking in an interview with Adom News on Tuesday, July 28, Akofena said he sought the intervention of several influential personalities, including former presidents and traditional leaders, to help resolve the dispute amicably.
“I tried everything. I have gone to many prominent people, including chiefs and former presidents, to call for a meeting so we can resolve the issues. I have even driven to her house to speak to her,” he said.
According to him, speaking publicly about the matter was not his preferred option, but he was forced to do so after several unsuccessful attempts to find a private solution.
“I didn’t even want to speak to the media about this. You know me; I don’t put my issues in public unless it has to do with work. I have done everything without success,” he added.
His comments come amid a growing disagreement between the siblings over arrangements for the funeral of their late father.
The dispute intensified after Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena I declared the July 30 burial date for Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka null and void, a decision that Adwoa Safo has publicly rejected, insisting that the funeral arrangements will proceed as scheduled.
