KGL Group, GMTF Begin Construction of Ultra-Modern Diagnostic Centre at Ridge Hospital
The facility will house MRI, CT scan, mammography and other advanced imaging equipment to improve specialist healthcare delivery in Ghana.

The Ghana Medical Trust Fund (GMTF), in partnership with KGL Group and the KGL Foundation, has commenced work on a major healthcare infrastructure project aimed at transforming diagnostic services at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital (Ridge).
The project will see the construction of a state-of-the-art diagnostic centre equipped with advanced medical imaging technologies, including an MRI machine, CT scanner, mammography unit, X-ray machine and fluoroscopy equipment.
The new facility is expected to improve access to specialised diagnostic care for thousands of patients by providing faster and more accurate medical assessments under one roof.
The initiative follows a February 5, 2026 appeal by the Ghana Medical Trust Fund for support from Corporate Ghana to help retool Ridge Hospital with modern diagnostic equipment.
In response, KGL Group and the KGL Foundation went beyond the initial request and committed to financing the construction of an entirely new diagnostic centre, making it one of the significant private sector investments in Ghana’s healthcare sector.
The project officially entered the implementation stage after GMTF Administrator Adjoa Obuobia Darko-Opoku and KGL Group Chief Executive Officer Alex Apau Dadey led their teams on a site inspection at Ridge Hospital.
When completed, the facility is expected to strengthen Ridge Hospital’s capacity to diagnose and manage complex medical conditions while reducing long waiting times and referrals for advanced imaging services.
The Ghana Medical Trust Fund described the partnership as a strong example of how government and the private sector can collaborate to improve healthcare delivery.
The Fund commended KGL Group for its commitment, noting that the company’s support exceeded the original request for diagnostic equipment and reflects a shared vision of expanding access to quality healthcare.
The ultra-modern diagnostic centre is expected to serve as a major referral hub for advanced medical imaging services and contribute significantly to improving patient outcomes and strengthening Ghana’s healthcare infrastructure.
