“48 Bullets Hit My Car; It Was a Shoot-to-Kill Mission” – Adwoa Safo Recounts Alleged Attack

Former Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament Sarah Adwoa Safo has opened up about the traumatic experience she says she survived after her vehicle was allegedly attacked with 48 bullets, describing the incident as a deliberate attempt to take her life.

The former Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection said she believes her survival was by the grace of God, describing the incident as one of the most terrifying moments of her life.

According to Adwoa Safo, the number of bullets fired at her vehicle convinced her that the attack was targeted.

“It was a serious ordeal I went through. Forty-eight bullets in my car, not everyone will survive that. If it was one or two or even a few, it could not be with vile intentions. But 48 means I was targeted. It was a shoot-to-kill mission,” she said.

She explained that most of the bullets hit the rear section of the vehicle, where she normally sits, but on that particular day, her driver was unavailable, forcing her to drive herself.

Adwoa Safo said she was dressed casually in shorts, a T-shirt and a cap, which she believes may have caused the attackers to mistake her identity and assume she was seated at the back as usual.

She recalled that she had no security detail or protection at the time, as she was only visiting a family member over the weekend.

“It was a weekend and I knew I was just visiting a brother. I went alone, unarmed and without protection,” she recounted.

The former lawmaker said she owes her survival to divine intervention and the medical treatment she later received abroad.

“But for God and the doctors who treated me abroad, I wouldn’t be alive today,” she stated.

Adwoa Safo did not identify who she believes was responsible for the alleged attack but maintained that surviving the incident remains one of the greatest testimonies of her life.
