The Minority Caucus in Parliament has alleged that former MASLOC Chief Executive Officer, Sedina Tamakloe Attionu, was not in prison custody upon her return to Ghana and was only transferred to a correctional facility on June 24, 2026.

Addressing a press conference in Parliament, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, who serves as the Minority’s spokesperson on constitutional and legal matters, stated that investigations conducted by the caucus contradicted claims that Ms. Tamakloe had been in prison custody since her arrival in the country.

According to him, records reviewed by the Minority during visits to prison facilities indicated that the former MASLOC CEO was transferred to an undisclosed prison only on June 24, 2026.

The Manhyia South MP further alleged that information previously provided by the government regarding Ms. Tamakloe’s incarceration was inaccurate. He claimed that their investigations suggested she had been assured that she would not remain in prison despite the court’s ruling.

Mr. Baffour Awuah also alleged that plans were in place either to secure her release after public attention surrounding her whereabouts subsided or to pursue an appeal aimed at overturning her sentence.

The Minority lawmaker made the claims during a press briefing held in Parliament and called for greater transparency regarding the circumstances surrounding the former MASLOC CEO’s custody.
