‘Delegates Will Not Make Mistake; They Will Speak on Saturday’ – Francis Adomako

Dr Francis Adomako, a contender for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Ashanti Regional Secretary position, has expressed confidence that delegates will make the right choice when they go to the polls on Saturday.
Speaking in an interview with Kwame Tanko on the Ghana Se Sen Morning Show on Lawson TV/Radio, Dr Adomako said his years of service to the party and his strong connection with the grassroots have positioned him as the best candidate for the position.
“Delegates will not make a mistake. They will speak on Saturday,” he said confidently.
The former NPP Ashanti Regional Organiser pointed to his track record of supporting party members and constituency executives across the region, saying his commitment to the party has been demonstrated through practical interventions over the years.
He said he has consistently provided financial support to constituency executives every year to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities.
Dr Adomako also highlighted his efforts to support students and families within the party, explaining that he collects data annually to assist party members with admission opportunities for their wards.
According to him, these interventions have been carried out across all 47 constituencies in the Ashanti Region.
Experience and Grassroots Connection
Dr Adomako said the Regional Secretary plays a critical role in the party and described the position as “the engine” of the regional structure.
He argued that the position requires someone with rich experience, a strong grassroots connection and a thorough understanding of the party’s operations.
He said the Regional Secretary must serve as an effective intermediary between the national leadership and grassroots members, ensuring that concerns from the constituencies reach the appropriate authorities.
If elected, Dr Adomako promised to provide laptops to all constituency secretaries to enable them to prepare regular reports and improve communication between the constituencies, the regional secretariat and the national leadership.
He said his ambition goes beyond simply becoming Regional Secretary, stressing that he wants to use the position to make a measurable impact on the party.
Plans to Revive Struggling Constituencies
Dr Adomako also pledged to introduce what he described as “frantic measures” to reclaim constituencies where the NPP has struggled electorally.
He said he intends to focus on strengthening the party’s structures, reconnecting with grassroots members and rebuilding confidence in constituencies that have become difficult for the party.
According to him, his campaign tour has revealed the extent to which party members appreciate his previous work.
He said some delegates have even told him that he does not need to campaign extensively because they are already familiar with his record.
Dr Adomako cited his support for members seeking admission for their wards, his participation in party activities even when he was not formally invited, and his efforts to help members resolve personal and organisational challenges.
“I have sat with the party people morning, afternoon and evening, whether rain or shine,” he said.
He attributed his strong relationship with the grassroots to his humility, affable personality and empathy.
‘Saturday Will Decide’
As the election approaches, Dr Adomako expressed confidence that delegates will reward his years of service to the party.
He said the election provides delegates with an opportunity to choose a Regional Secretary who understands the grassroots, has experience in party administration and is prepared to work.
“It is God who makes a king, but the delegates have spoken, saying they will vote for me,” he said.
With the election approaching, Dr Adomako maintained that the final decision rests with the delegates.
“Delegates will not make a mistake. They will speak on Saturday,” he reiterated.
He urged delegates to consider his track record, experience and commitment to the grassroots as they make their decision on the next NPP Ashanti Regional Secretary.
