JFK’s Leadership Critical to NPP’s 2028 Comeback — Tobbin

The Member of Parliament for Anyaa Sowutuom, Emmanuel Tobbin, has declared his support for Justin Kodua Frimpong (JFK) to retain his position as General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Hon. Tobbin said JFK’s humility, emotional intelligence and ability to build consensus were qualities the party needed as it reorganises ahead of the 2028 general elections.

Speaking during JFK’s campaign tour at Weija-GBAWE, the Anyaa Sowutuom MP appealed to constituency executives from Weija-GBAWE and Domeabra-Obom to support the incumbent General Secretary.

He argued that the NPP required a leader capable of bringing members together, managing internal differences and building consensus as the party works to strengthen its structures and regain power.

“We cannot afford to lose JFK’s humility and emotional intelligence as our General Secretary in our quest to win power in 2028,” Hon. Tobbin said.

100% support from Anyaa Sowutuom

Hon. Tobbin also announced that he had secured what he described as 100 per cent support for JFK among executives in the Anyaa Sowutuom Constituency.

According to him, the commitment followed consultations and consensus-building with constituency executives, who he said believed that JFK’s leadership experience and qualities made him suitable to continue as General Secretary.

“I have built consensus with my executives, and we have all seen the need to retain JFK. I am therefore declaring 100 percent votes for JFK in Anyaa Sowutuom,” he said.

Tobbin praises JFK’s unifying role

The MP said JFK’s contribution to the party extends beyond administrative responsibilities, highlighting his ability to listen to different views, build bridges and unite members around common objectives.

He said such qualities were particularly important in a political party with diverse interests and perspectives.

Hon. Tobbin further argued that JFK had demonstrated these attributes during difficult periods for the NPP and deserved the opportunity to continue contributing to the party’s reorganisation.

Praises parliamentary contribution

Hon. Tobbin also praised JFK’s role in the NPP Parliamentary Caucus, describing him as an important contributor to the work of the party’s MPs.

He said JFK’s support, coordination and commitment had contributed to the effectiveness of the Caucus and its efforts in Parliament.

According to the MP, JFK’s parliamentary experience also demonstrated his ability to work across different levels of the party and coordinate members towards shared political objectives.

Calls for continuity ahead of 2028

Hon. Tobbin said the NPP’s immediate priority should be to rebuild trust, strengthen its organisational structures and promote unity ahead of the 2028 elections.

He therefore urged delegates to consider JFK’s experience and leadership style when casting their votes in the party’s internal elections.

He also appealed to executives in Weija-GBAWE and Domeabra-Obom to support JFK, arguing that the NPP would need experienced and unifying leadership to successfully rebuild and mount a strong challenge in 2028.

Hon. Tobbin’s declaration adds to JFK’s campaign for another term as General Secretary, with the MP presenting continuity, unity and consensus-building as key to the party’s efforts to reorganise ahead of the next general election.
