Police Probe Murder of Yidaani Chief and Son in Gushegu
Police deploy Counter-Terrorism Unit teams as investigations intensify into the killing of the Yidaani Chief and his son.


The Northern Regional Police Command has launched investigations into the killing of the newly enskinned Yidaani Chief, Naa Ntimla Nwenlarim, and his son, Ntimla Bilagabim, in the Gushegu District.
The two were reportedly shot dead at their residence in the early hours of Friday, August 14, 2026, by three unidentified armed men.
Police have deployed two Counter-Terrorism Unit teams to support the investigation, while intelligence officers have also been sent to the area to help identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
The bodies have been conveyed to the Tamale Teaching Hospital Mortuary for post-mortem examinations.
Authorities have appealed to residents to remain calm and avoid retaliatory attacks as investigations continue.
