The Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana (PAOG) has confirmed the death of a Ghanaian pilgrim during this year’s Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca.
The deceased, identified as 53-year-old Musah Sidi, reportedly passed away while performing the Tawaf ritual at the Grand Mosque.

According to the PAOG, the pilgrim collapsed while circumambulating the Kaaba — a central rite of the Hajj pilgrimage where worshippers walk around the sacred structure in prayer — and died shortly afterwards.
The Office disclosed that the family of the deceased has been officially informed of the incident.
It added that preparations are underway for Janaza prayers to be held after Jumu’ah prayers, after which the late pilgrim will be buried in accordance with Islamic traditions.
In a statement, the Pilgrims Affairs Office noted that in Islam, dying while in a state of worship and in Ihram during pilgrimage is regarded as spiritually honourable.
The Office also extended condolences to the family, friends, and fellow pilgrims of the deceased.
“We pray that Allah forgives his shortcomings and grants him eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus,” the statement said.
