- The event will unveil the 2026 theme, host region, programme of activities, and award categories.
- The Ministry is seeking stronger partnerships with the private sector and development partners to support agricultural growth and food security.
The Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) will officially launch the 42nd National Farmers’ Day Celebration on June 30, 2026, setting the stage for a series of activities leading to this year’s national event.
The launch is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. at the Ministry’s forecourt in Accra and is expected to bring together corporate organisations, development partners, donor agencies, financial institutions, agribusinesses, and key stakeholders in Ghana’s agricultural sector.

In a statement, the Ministry said the National Farmers’ Day Celebration has, for more than four decades, served as the country’s premier platform for recognising and rewarding the invaluable contributions of farmers, fisherfolk, agricultural workers, agribusinesses, researchers, and institutions that continue to drive growth and transformation in the sector.
According to MoFA, the launch will officially commence preparations for the 2026 celebration and provide the public with key details about this year’s event.
The Ministry is expected to unveil the official theme for the 42nd edition, announce the host region, outline the programme of activities, and provide information on award categories and other arrangements for the celebration.
MoFA noted that the launch will also create opportunities for sponsorships and strategic partnerships, enabling organisations and development partners to support Ghana’s agricultural development agenda while strengthening collaboration with the Ministry.
The Ministry emphasised that the private sector and development partners remain essential to advancing sustainable agriculture, enhancing food security, creating jobs, and promoting value addition across the agricultural value chain.
It therefore encouraged organisations, institutions, and development partners to participate in the launch and take advantage of opportunities to contribute to the success of this year’s celebration.
The Ministry further called on stakeholders to join in recognising the individuals and institutions whose dedication continues to strengthen Ghana’s agricultural sector and contribute to national development.
The National Farmers’ Day Celebration remains one of Ghana’s most important annual events, honouring excellence in agriculture while promoting innovation, productivity, and sustainable growth within the sector.
