The Ghana Police Service has arrested three suspects in a coordinated intelligence-led operation aimed at dismantling a robbery syndicate operating in Akatsi and nearby communities.

The operation, led by the Special Operations Assistant (SOA) to the Inspector-General of Police, was launched following a surge in reported robbery incidents in the area.

According to police, the first suspect, Enoch Adoglo, was picked up at Gavekope on April 21, 2026. Acting on further intelligence, officers later moved to the outskirts of the same community, where they arrested a second suspect, Cephas Aniwaa, a blacksmith believed to be producing and supplying weapons to the criminal group. A third suspect, David Adzinu, was also arrested in the operation.

A search conducted on the suspects led to the recovery of a significant cache of weapons and ammunition, including seven single-barrel rifles, five locally manufactured pistols, one revolver, and several rounds of ammunition. Police also retrieved mobile phones and tools suspected to have been used in fabricating weapons.

Investigations have since identified another suspect, Mensah Kedzi, as a key figure in the robbery network, allegedly linked to an attack reported on April 3, 2026.

He is currently on the run alongside other suspects identified as Akakpo, an ex-convict, and another accomplice known as Ageh.

The Police Service says efforts have been intensified to track down all remaining suspects and bring everyone involved in the criminal network to justice.
