Minority Leader and Member of Parliament for the Effutu Constituency Osahene Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has demanded the presence of Samuel Nartey George, Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, to appear before Parliament to explain the ongoing SIM card re-registration exercise.

Speaking on the floor of Parliament, Hon. Afenyo-Markin said the National Communications Authority (NCA) reported irregularities in the initial SIM registration, prompting the need for a new registration exercise—an issue he believes must be probed by Parliament.

He criticized the Majority Caucus for allegedly shielding ministers from appearing before the House, asserting that some ministers are “comfortable and sleeping on the job.”
