- Aberdeen F.C. granted permission to speak with Stephen Robinson.
- Robinson has managed St Mirren F.C. since 2022.
- Aberdeen have won just one of their last eight matches.
Aberdeen F.C. have received permission to open formal discussions with St Mirren F.C. manager Stephen Robinson regarding their vacant managerial position.
The Aberdeen F.C. board confirmed that St Mirren have allowed them to approach the 51-year-old Northern Irish coach as they continue their search for a new permanent manager.
Robinson has been in charge of St Mirren F.C. since 2022 and has overseen the club’s progress in the Scottish Premiership.
Meanwhile, Peter Leven has been serving as caretaker manager at Aberdeen since the club dismissed Jimmy Thelin in early January.
However, results have been difficult for the team in recent weeks. Aberdeen suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat to Dunfermline Athletic F.C. in the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup on Saturday. The loss continued a poor run of form, with the club managing just one win in their last eight matches, including defeats in their most recent three games.
Robinson has now emerged as a leading candidate to take over permanently at Pittodrie as Aberdeen aim to stabilise their season.
