- Delegates warn wrong choice could keep NPP in opposition for 12 years
Some delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have described Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong as the party’s only realistic hope of returning to power in the 2028 general elections.

According to the delegates, Ing. Agyepong possesses the experience, character, and credibility required to reunite the party and win back the trust of Ghanaians.
They believe he is flawless in terms of party loyalty and has what it takes to lead the NPP to victory.

They cautioned that if delegates fail to elect Ing. Kwabena Agyepong and instead choose the wrong candidate, the party risks remaining in opposition for as long as 12 years.
The delegates praised him as a humble party man who has “gone through the mills” and understands the NPP to its core, having served the party faithfully at various levels over the years.

They also pointed out that Ing. Kwabena Agyepong is the only one among the five presidential aspirants who did not serve in the Akufo-Addo administration. This, they believe, places him in a unique position to attract floating voters, as Ghanaians harbour no anger or resentment toward him.

As part of his mop-up campaign on Day Three, Ing. Agyepong visited the Agona, Offinso, and Subin constituencies, where he engaged party delegates and grassroots members.
Addressing the delegates, he said:
“I have suffered for this party and I know what many of you go through. I want you to know that under my leadership, the welfare of our members will be very close to my heart.”
Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong urged delegates to remember him at the ballot on Saturday, January 31, 2026, stressing that his leadership offers the surest path to unity and a return to power.

“Remember me on Saturday to bring the party back to where it belongs,” he told the delegates, noting that the NPP stands at a defining moment in its history.
He added that he represents the hope and future of the party and is capable of rebuilding trust, strengthening unity, and restoring the party’s electoral fortunes.

Describing himself as a natural unifier, Ing. Agyepong noted that even before being elected flagbearer, he already enjoys strong support from polling station executives and grassroots members across the country support he says is rooted in years of sacrifice and unwavering loyalty to the party.

He emphasized that unity remains the foundation of the NPP, warning that internal divisions could have dire consequences. According to him, electing the wrong candidate could keep the party in opposition for up to 12 years.
Highlighting his personal record, Ing. Agyepong reiterated that he is the only aspirant who did not benefit from a ministerial appointment under former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo—a distinction he says reflects humility, independence, and commitment to service rather than personal gain.
“I have never spoken evil against anyone,” he said, adding that although he believes in discipline and accountability, correction must be done with love and purpose.
“If you go astray, I will correct you—but not destroy you,” he stressed.
Ing. Kwabena Agyepong’s campaign is being driven by the theme “Going Back to Our Roots,” anchored on the values of Sacrifice, Service, and Selflessness.
