Ghanaian singer Wendy Shay has spoken candidly about her experiences in the music industry, insisting that she was not just made to feel bullied online but was actually subjected to bullying.
In a recent interview, the “Uber Driver” hitmaker said she frequently became a target on social media, where her name was often used to generate attention and online engagement.
She explained that much of the criticism directed at her stemmed from comparisons with other artists and from individuals who used her popularity as “clickbait” to attract traffic and reactions.
“I didn’t feel bullied, I was bullied,” she stated firmly, stressing the emotional impact of the constant negativity.
Wendy Shay said she believes she was targeted for two main reasons: being compared to a beloved figure in the music industry and being seen as an easy way to gain attention online.
According to her, this made her an “easy target” for trolls and critics who used her name to drive conversations, often at her expense.
Despite the backlash, she revealed that she chose not to engage with negativity, instead focusing on her music and personal development.
Her remarks add to ongoing conversations about online harassment in the entertainment industry and the pressures faced by public figures in the digital age.
