The Technical Study Group will be responsible for analysing matches throughout the tournament and providing detailed insights aimed at improving the global understanding and development of football.
The panel, guided by former Arsenal manager and FIFA Chief of Global Football Development Arsène Wenger, includes several notable football personalities from around the world.
Members of the group include Tobin Heath, Jürgen Klinsmann, Jayne Ludlow, Michael O’Neill, Gilberto Silva, Jon Dahl Tomasson, Paulo Wanchope, Aron Winter and Pablo Zabaleta.
The technical team will be led by FIFA Senior Football Expert Pascal Zuberbühler and Football Performance Insights lead Tom Gardner, supported by analysts, data scientists and performance experts based in Miami, Dallas and Manchester.
According to FIFA, the TSG will provide real-time tactical and performance analysis during all 104 matches at the tournament using advanced football intelligence tools and detailed data metrics.
The initiative forms part of FIFA’s effort to enhance football analysis for coaches, players, broadcasters and fans worldwide through modern technology and data-driven insights.
Speaking about the initiative, Arsène Wenger said the Technical Study Group helps identify trends in football and prepares future generations for the evolution of the game.
The TSG will also play a role in selecting winners of the tournament’s individual awards while sharing technical observations and tactical breakdowns through the FIFA Training Centre and digital platforms during the competition.
