Besiktas have completed the £11.2m permanent signing of Tammy Abraham from Roma, paving the way for the striker’s move back to the Premier League with Aston Villa.

The Turkish club triggered an obligation to buy clause in Abraham’s loan agreement, despite their reluctance to part with the forward, after Villa agreed an £18m deal to bring him to England. Abraham travelled to the UK on Friday and underwent a medical on Saturday.

Besiktas confirmed the activation of the clause in a statement, saying: “The conditions in the transfer contract of Kevin Oghenetega Tamaraebi Bakumo-Abraham have been fulfilled, and the provision for the permanent transfer of the player has come into effect. In this context, a transfer fee of 13m euros will be paid to AS Roma.”

The 28-year-old, who has won 11 caps for England, enjoyed a productive spell with Besiktas, scoring 12 goals in 24 appearances.

Abraham originally joined Roma from Chelsea for £34m in 2021, going on to score 39 goals in 120 matches and helping the club lift the Europa Conference League in 2022. He spent the 2024-25 season on loan at AC Milan, where he scored 10 times in 44 games.
