Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu has called on Ghanaian Muslims preparing for the 2026 Hajj to uphold discipline, unity, and the core values of Islam throughout the pilgrimage.

In a message issued by his office, the Chief Imam congratulated prospective pilgrims and highlighted the spiritual importance of the Hajj, describing it as one of the most significant pillars of Islam. He also prayed for their safety, good health, and a successful journey.

Pilgrims were urged to demonstrate patience, humility, selflessness, and respect, while remembering that they represent not only themselves and their families but also Ghana and the global Muslim community.

The statement also expressed appreciation to the government for its support in organising the pilgrimage, commending John Dramani Mahama for efforts to improve the welfare and travel experience of Ghanaian pilgrims.

Additionally, the Ghana Hajj Board, led by Chairman Alhaji Ibrahim Tanko, was praised for its coordination and dedication in ensuring a smooth process for participants.

Pilgrims were further advised to comply with all regulations, cooperate with officials, and remain law-abiding during their stay in Saudi Arabia.

The message concluded with prayers for an accepted pilgrimage and a safe return, encouraging all participants to uphold Ghana’s image through exemplary conduct.
