Netanyahu Reveals Successful Treatment for Early-Stage Prostate Cancer
Israeli leader says tumour was detected early and completely removed during routine medical monitoring

- Netanyahu confirms early cancer diagnosis
- Tumour detected during routine check-up
- Says treatment fully resolved condition
Benjamin Netanyahu has revealed that he recently underwent treatment for early-stage prostate cancer, saying he is now in “excellent physical condition” following the procedure.
In a statement shared on X, the Israeli leader explained that doctors discovered a small malignant tumour during routine medical monitoring after a previous surgery for an enlarged but non-cancerous prostate. He said the tumour was detected early and successfully removed, leaving no trace of the disease.
Netanyahu noted that he had chosen to delay the release of his medical report to avoid it being publicised during the height of tensions between Israel and Iran, which he said could have been exploited for propaganda purposes.
According to him, the tumour measured less than a centimetre and was identified during a routine check-up about 18 months after his initial prostate procedure. He described the condition as minor and fully treated.
The prime minister emphasised the importance of acting quickly when potential health risks are identified, drawing a parallel between personal health decisions and national leadership.
The disclosure comes ahead of a planned visit to the White House, as the United States continues efforts to broker a lasting peace agreement in the ongoing regional tensions.
