Ashanti Regional New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman hopeful, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, has firmly dismissed widespread speculation that he is at loggerheads with the party’s Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi.

Speaking in an interview with Kwame Tanko on the Ghana Se Sen Morning Show on Monday, July 13, 2026, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah described reports of a strained relationship between the two as false, insisting they have never had any personal feud.

“Some people think I am at loggerheads with Chairman Wontumi, but we have never been at loggerheads before,” he said.

According to him, differences of opinion are normal in politics and leadership, but they have always maintained mutual respect and open communication whenever disagreements arise.

“I am a democratic person. If there is an issue I don’t agree with him on, I call him and discuss it with him. He also does the same when he disagrees with me,” he explained.

The NPP stalwart further cited their cordial personal relationship as evidence that there is no bad blood between them, revealing that they regularly exchange goodwill messages during special occasions.

“On my birthday, Chairman Wontumi called to wish me well, and I also do the same for him,” he disclosed.

Odeneho Kwaku Appiah stressed that his current focus is on promoting unity within the NPP ahead of the next general election, rather than engaging in internal conflicts.

“Where I have reached in life, I protect peace. I am only interested in things that will help us win the next election,” he stated.

Reflecting on his personal growth, he noted that experience has reshaped his approach to politics and leadership.

“I have changed from my old ways. I am growing, learning wisdom, and I have come to appreciate the importance of peace-building,” he added.
