OSP Invites Paul Adom-Otchere Over GACL Contract; He Denounces Probe as ‘Witch-Hunt’
Former GACL board chair denies wrongdoing, claims political targeting in Special Prosecutor’s investigation.
- OSP has summoned Paul Adom-Otchere, former Board Chairman of the Ghana Airports Company Limited for questioning
- Mr. Adom-Otchere confirmed receipt of the invitation
- He further questioned why he was being singled out
The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has summoned Paul Adom-Otchere, former Board Chairman of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), for questioning over an ongoing investigation into a revenue assurance audit contract.
In a letter dated July 25, 2025, the OSP identified Mr. Adom-Otchere as a suspect in its inquiry into alleged corruption and related offences linked to the agreement between GACL and a private firm.
Mr. Adom-Otchere confirmed receipt of the invitation and noted that he is expected to appear before investigators at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 31.
However, he dismissed the investigation as a politically motivated “witch-hunt,” arguing that he had no role in signing the contract in question.
“The agreement was executed by the Managing Director of Ghana Airports Company. I wasn’t even aware the contract had been finalized,” he said.
He further questioned why he was being singled out when, in his view, the management team—especially the GACL Managing Director who signed the deal—should be the focus of the inquiry.
Mr. Adom-Otchere served as board chair until early 2025. The OSP has not publicly commented on the ongoing probe.
