Police in Mampongteng are investigating an alleged assault involving a final-year student of Amaniampong Senior High School (SHS) and a housemaster, in a case that has sparked public concern and calls for disciplinary action.
The student, identified as Emmanuel Kwarteng, is said to have been attacked after he reportedly refused to participate in a compulsory all-night church service on campus. The incident allegedly occurred inside the school’s dormitory after a confrontation with the housemaster, Gyamfi Charles.
According to family accounts, the confrontation escalated into a physical altercation, leaving the student with serious injuries. He is currently receiving treatment at the Ejisu Government Hospital.
Images and videos circulating on social media show the student on the floor with visible injuries, including damage to his eye, intensifying public outrage over the incident.
The matter has since been formally reported to the police, who confirm that investigations are underway pending a medical report.
Family members are demanding the immediate interdiction of the accused housemaster and are also calling for compensation for the victim.

Meanwhile, authorities at Amaniampong SHS say they have submitted a detailed report, along with recommendations for sanctions, to the Municipal Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES).
Assistant Headmaster in charge of Administration, Prempeh William Osei, noted that the school is fully cooperating with investigators and prioritising the student’s recovery.
As investigations continue, pressure is mounting on authorities to ensure accountability and address concerns over discipline and student welfare within the school system.
