Abubakar Razak Challenges Eugene Boakye Antwi’s Bid for NPP General Secretary
Ashanti Regional Nasara Organizer says the position should not be treated as a political fallback.

- Razak’s criticism: Challenges Antwi’s General Secretary bid.
- Primary defeat: Cites his 106 votes in the parliamentary primaries.
- Resignation call: Says Antwi should have resigned to contest earlier.
The Ashanti Regional Nasara Organizer, Abubakar Razak, has criticised former Subin MP Eugene Boakye Antwi’s bid for the position of General Secretary, arguing that the position should not be treated as an “end-of-service benefit.”
According to Mr. Razak, Mr. Boakye Antwi’s defeat in the parliamentary primaries, where he secured 106 votes out of about 900, should not be followed by an attempt to secure the party’s General Secretary position as an alternative political role.
“After losing the parliamentary primaries with just 106 votes out of about 900, he cannot now present the General Secretary position as his political retirement package.”
Mr. Razak further argued that if Mr. Boakye Antwi had genuinely intended to contest for the General Secretary position, he should have resigned his parliamentary seat and contested the position while still serving as MP.
“If he truly wanted to be General Secretary, he should have resigned as MP and contested then.”
Abubakar Razak previously served as the Subin Constituency Youth Organizer during the tenure of Eugene Boakye Antwi as Member of Parliament for the constituency.
