Minister for Education and Member of Parliament for Tamale South, Haruna Iddrisu, has reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring justice for slain investigative journalist Ahmed Suale.
Mr. Iddrisu gave the assurance during a visit to Ahmed Suale’s family at Wulensi in the Nanumba South District of the Northern Region on Sunday.

The visit formed part of his trip to the area, where he had earlier joined the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Constituency Chairman in Bimbilla to mourn the passing of his father.
Addressing Ahmed Suale’s mother, Madam Yakubu Arahamatu, the Education Minister assured the family that efforts to uncover the circumstances surrounding the journalist’s murder remain a priority for the government.
He expressed confidence that justice would ultimately prevail, stressing that those responsible for the killing would not escape accountability.
“God’s justice is worth the wait, and government’s pursuit of justice in this matter is worth pursuing. We will continue to pursue it, we will unravel it, and we pray that God will support us to do so,” he said.
Mr. Iddrisu added that while justice may take time, the government remains determined to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to book.
As part of his support for the family, he also assured Ahmed Suale’s sister that she would be considered under the Ghana Education Service’s teacher recruitment programme to help improve the family’s livelihood.
Ahmed Suale, a member of the investigative team at Tiger Eye PI, was shot and killed in Accra in January 2019.
His death sparked widespread condemnation and renewed calls from both local and international media rights organisations for justice and accountability.
More than seven years after the killing, the case continues to attract public attention, with many urging authorities to ensure those behind the crime are prosecuted.
