GES Interdicts Bole SHS Teacher Over Alleged Sexual Misconduct

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has interdicted a teacher of Bole Senior High School in the Savannah Region following allegations of sexual misconduct involving a student.

In a statement issued on June 16, 2026, the Service said it had become aware of a disturbing video circulating on social media, allegedly showing inappropriate conduct between a teacher and a student of the school.

The statement, signed by the Head of Public Relations of GES, Daniel Fenyi, noted that management has already commenced investigations to establish the facts surrounding the incident.

“Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has become aware of a disturbing video of alleged sexual misconduct circulating on social media involving a teacher and a student of Bole Senior High School in the Savannah Region,” the statement said.

It added that pending the outcome of investigations, the teacher has been interdicted in line with GES rules and regulations.

“Management has initiated investigations into the matter. Pending the outcome of the investigations, Management directs that the teacher is interdicted in accordance with GES rules and regulations,” it further stated.

The GES strongly condemned all forms of inappropriate relationships between teachers and students, stressing that such conduct is unacceptable and contrary to the ethical standards expected of education professionals.

It reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on sexual misconduct, urging all staff to maintain the highest levels of professional ethics and conduct at all times.

The Service also reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the welfare, safety, and well-being of students across all educational institutions in the country, assuring that any individual found culpable after investigations will face appropriate disciplinary and legal action.
