Dr. Adam Bonaa, a security expert, has called for the identification and arrest of individuals who allegedly took pictures of their ballot papers after participating in the Special Voting Exercise on December 2, 2024.
Images of stamped ballot papers surfaced on social media shortly after voting, sparking concern. Reacting to the incident, Dr. Bonaa said, “These officers should be arrested and dealt with.”
Adding to the controversy, Kwaku Asare, a Ghanaian professor based in the United States, expressed his shock on Facebook, stating, “I was shocked to see images of cast ballots circulating on social media. What’s going on?”
During the special voting, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ayawaso Central constituency raised concerns about some voters allegedly taking photos of their ballot papers after voting. Harry Otu, the NDC Chairman for Ayawaso Central, noted that he observed voters casting their ballots and then taking pictures with them, particularly those voting for “Number 1.”
The issue has drawn significant attention, with calls for strict action against those responsible.
