The Minority Select Committee on Health has strongly condemned the closure of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) office in Ejisu, calling the incident “nonsense” that must end immediately.

The condemnation comes after alleged members of the National Democratic Congress reportedly locked the Ejisu NHIA office and forced staff out, targeting the Manager over political affiliations.

Speaking to the press, Hon. Nana Ayew Afriyie, Ranking Member on Health, decried the attack, citing similar politically motivated incidents in Kejebi (Oti Region, Sept 2025), Tema Central (Feb 2026), and Bosomtwe Constituency (recently).

“These nonsense must stop,” he stressed, urging all parties to refrain from destructive and violent behavior in public institutions.
