Mid-Year Budget: Gov’t to Reconstruct 5,000km of Roads in 166 Constituencies by 2028
Each of 166 constituencies to receive 10km of road upgrades annually until 2028

The government is set to launch an extensive nationwide road rehabilitation project aimed at transforming transport infrastructure in 166 constituencies identified as having critical road deficits.
Presenting the 2025 Mid-Year Budget Review to Parliament on Thursday, July 24, Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson announced that each of the selected constituencies will benefit from the rehabilitation of 10 kilometers of roads annually over the next three years, culminating in a total of 5,000 kilometers of improved roads by 2028.
“The government has pinpointed 166 constituencies in urgent need of road improvements. To address this, we’re committing to 10km of roadworks per constituency each year for the next three years,” Dr. Forson stated.
The initiative is expected to significantly enhance accessibility, reduce travel time, and boost local economies across the targeted areas.
