- Second batch of Ghanaian evacuees from South Africa set to return on June 7, 2026.
- Applicants must attend verification and briefing on June 6
- Baggage limit set at two bags of 23kg each.
The Ghana High Commission in South Africa has announced the second batch of Ghanaian nationals approved to return home on Sunday, June 7, 2026, as part of the ongoing voluntary evacuation programme.
The announcement follows a temporary suspension of new registrations to allow officials to process and verify a high volume of applications from citizens seeking to return to Ghana.
In a notice to the Ghanaian community, the High Commission outlined key arrangements for approved evacuees, urging them to adhere strictly to pre-departure procedures.
All passengers scheduled to travel on June 7 are expected to report to the High Commission on the evening of Saturday, June 6, for verification, briefing, and final preparations ahead of departure.

Applicants whose names appear on the approved list but no longer intend to travel have been asked to notify the mission by noon on Thursday, June 4, to allow others to be considered.
The mission has also issued baggage guidelines, allowing each traveller to check in two bags with a maximum weight of 23 kilograms per bag. Any excess luggage will not be accepted.
Parents and guardians travelling with children have been advised to carry all required documentation, including consent letters where applicable, Road-to-Health cards, and child health records.
The High Commission further indicated that travellers issued with Emergency Travel Certificates (ETCs) will receive their documents at the airport on the day of departure.
Ghana’s High Commission in Pretoria is coordinating the evacuation exercise in collaboration with relevant authorities as part of efforts to assist Ghanaian nationals voluntarily returning home from South Africa.
