President John Dramani Mahama is expected to hold high-level bilateral talks with Belarusian President Aleksandr Grigorievich Lukashenko on Monday, June 8, 2026, in Minsk, as Ghana and Belarus move to strengthen cooperation in agriculture, trade, and technical development.

The meeting, which takes place on the final day of President Mahama’s five-day official visit to Belarus, will be held at the Presidential Palace in Minsk and will be followed by expanded discussions between senior officials of both countries.

Four Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) are expected to be signed after the bilateral engagements, marking a significant step in deepening relations between Accra and Minsk.

President Mahama’s visit, undertaken at the invitation of President Lukashenko, is aimed at exploring new opportunities for economic cooperation, agricultural modernization, and technical support between the two nations.

Later in the day, President Mahama will address the Ghana–Belarus Business Forum at the Presidential Hotel, where government officials and private sector representatives from both countries are expected to explore investment opportunities and strengthen trade relations.

The Ghanaian delegation includes officials from the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), as well as key private sector stakeholders.

The forum is expected to focus on expanding commercial partnerships and attracting investment into strategic sectors of Ghana’s economy, particularly agriculture and agro-processing.

During the visit, President Mahama toured Savushkin Product Joint Stock Company, one of Belarus’ leading agro-processing firms, where he observed advanced dairy production systems and modern food processing technologies.

He also visited the Belagro Agricultural Exhibition, where he was exposed to a wide range of agricultural machinery and mechanisation equipment designed to boost productivity and reduce post-harvest losses.

The engagements reflect Ghana’s growing interest in leveraging Belarusian expertise to modernize its agricultural sector, improve efficiency, and strengthen national food security.
