Manchester City have condemned racist abuse directed at Antoine Semenyo following their Premier League clash with Everton, calling the incident unacceptable and reaffirming their stance against discrimination.

In a statement issued after the 3-3 draw on Monday, the club expressed anger over the abuse aimed at the Ghana international, who played 75 minutes in the match. City also welcomed the swift response from Everton and local authorities, who have begun efforts to identify the individual responsible.

The club further revealed that defender Marc Guéhi was also subjected to racist messages on social media after the game, highlighting the persistent issue of abuse both in stadiums and online.

“We will continue to support Antoine and Marc and will not tolerate discrimination in any form,” the club stated, reinforcing its zero-tolerance policy.

This is not the first time Semenyo has faced such incidents during the 2025–26 season. In August 2025, while playing for AFC Bournemouth, he reported racist abuse from a fan during a match at Anfield, which led to the arrest and charging of a suspect.

More recently, in April 2026, Semenyo spoke out against further racist abuse he received online, drawing support from teammates, clubs, and anti-discrimination groups.

Since his £64 million transfer to Manchester City in January 2026, Semenyo has become a key figure in the team’s attack. The repeated incidents targeting him have intensified calls for stricter enforcement and stronger action to combat racism in football.

As investigations continue, Manchester City’s response underscores a clear message that racism has no place in the sport and that those responsible must be held accountable.
